SOETNGO addresses menstrual hygiene challenges by producing and distributing reusable pads, educating communities, and encouraging donations to keep girls in school and improve their performance.
In rural communities, School girls aged 10-19 years from low income families, face a myriad of Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) challenges, including: lack of information, products and services.
SOETNGO Intends to make reusable materials from available cheap materials which can be sourced locally. This can be made by our women in our local villages. The organization can in turn buy from them at a subsidized price and distribute them to the girls in the local villages.
SOETNGO also has started an initiative for anyone to buy a pad and keep a girl at school. In our any community around, its hard for a man to buy pads for a girl. This myth is going to change as we shall educate our men too to understand that every month a girl requires a pad. If every man donates a pad, then many girls will be kept at school and it will have positive effect on their performance.
Reusable pads can be used for upwards of a year – contributing to peace of mind and security.
